L’evoluzione stilistica dell’autore, di origine aristocratica ma testimone della Parigi dei bassifondi e delle case chiuse, verrà delineata in tutte le sue fasi di maturazione, dalla pittura alla grafica, con particolare riguardo per la sua profonda conoscenza delle stampe giapponesi e per la passione verso la fotografia.
Vengono esposte oltre 250 opere di Toulouse-Lautrec, con ben 35 dipinti, oltre a litografie, acqueforti e la serie completa di tutti i 22 manifesti realizzati dall’artista ‘maledetto’, provenienti dal Musée Toulouse-Lautrec di Albi e da importanti musei e collezioni internazionali e da diverse storiche collezioni private.
